
Technical Approach
Installation and Integration
The installation crews will initiate physical installation tasks per the project schedule. Martinsburg would require physical installation of a bay frame and mounting of shelves. All circuit packs would be inserted into respective slots and verification of power up status would made. Upon completion of the physical installation tasks, circuit pack insertion, required cabling and power-up verification, integration test and turn-up activities will be initiated.
Integration will untilize the existing installation crews and compliment them with equipment specialist from the integration team. Integration tasks will include establishing and verifying application connectivity and confirmation of error free transmision. Application sessions will be initiated and terminated in normal fashion. Failure of a primary path will be implemented to verfy the appropriate activation of protection paths. Failed paths will be restored to verify switching back to primary paths. Soak tests will be performed to verify adequate bit error rate performance.
Turn Over To Customer
upon completion of installation and integration, service will be ready to be turned overto the customer. Aformal meeting will be established between the Project Manager and the customer to review procedures to initiate the maintenance program. Procedures for initiating Remote Technical Support, On site Technical Support, and Spares Exchange will be documanted and reviewed with the customer. Additionally, procedures for utilizing Performance Management, Fault Mnagement will be documented and reviewed with the customer.
